C.1910, Czech, Gustav Becker, 2-Weight wall regulator in the Alt Deutsch style.
This is an interesting clock. The movement has Becker's medal of meritorious constuction, and to the left, his mark has been deeply over-stamped with the circular mark of "Hainz, Prague". All parts are 100 percent Becker: hands, dial, etc. The case itself is a non-factory unit, from a cabinet maker; the veneer is red mahogany, an unusual choice, and probably the entire case was made to match parlor furniture of the time; note full columns with Corinthian capitals on top part of door. Typical of this type of project, there is a large 1/2 inch piece of pine in the top rear of the case to put the movement in proper relationship to the door. Note the dial center, pendulum and weights all with original gilt pattern. Needs cleaning. Height 52" $700-900
