C.1860, German, Unsigned 2-Weight wall clock in the Viennese style We attribute this low serial number (153559) to Gustav Becker, as the movement is identical to a Becker and the cast brass slide mount is typical of his early work. Although top finials have been newly turned (nice job), the case is otherwise in excellent original condition. Note the sides of the door, top and base are all canted out at 45°, and with counter framing all along. The veneer is very attractive burl, and the recessed panel in the rear is also book-matched. There are minor nicks and scrapes, and some glue repairs, but overall this is an exceptional clock with exceptional eye appeal. Height 55"
