C.1885, German, Lenzkirch, 2-Wt Tall Case, in very good condition.
A couple of items keep this from being excellent. The crutch tension vernier screw on the pendulum is missing (but easy enough to make), the suspension spring has a double sided spring, and one side has broken; it will need renewing before the pendulum can swing properly. The front door has a warp that precludes using the bottom latch, but looks OK from the front. Pend bob with ding on lower edge (not too noticeable) The large movement is signed with Lenzkirch trademark and serial No.807643; note this model is pictured in the 1883 Lenzkirch catalog as No. 544, Masterschutz. The movement has been cleaned and re-strung and the 9Ó dial re-silvered. The clock strikes on a deep cathedral gong mounted to the case back. Once the susp spring is corrected, it will run fine. Note Lenz pulleys are not in photo, but come with clock. Height 94Ó $5,000-$6,000
