C.1850, H'ry Marc, Paris, French 8-day time/strike porcelain clock (two piece). This very high style rococo clock sits on a separate porcelain base. The silk thread suspension movement is signed. The case and base are in excellent condition with a just little wear to the applied gold. The case is decorated front and back with blue and gold decoration and painted flowers on the front and sides. The base to the clock is marked "J.P.". The porcelain dial is perfect and the hands are original. The clock case originally had a wooden dust panel in the bottom that is now missing because the 2 small porcelain mounting tabs are broken away (not of concern to most collectors).
