Movement is 8 day, strikes a rod gong on the half hours. Brass dial is 8 inches square, dial ring is silver with bronze gilt, now wearing. Attached spandrels on the corners. The movement is signed with the Junghans trademark which they used from the 1890's until the 1920's. The movement attaches to 4 brass posts. The pendulum and weights are brass, pendulum stick is wood, beat scale is metal. There are 4 glasses, 2 on the sides, 2 in front. The top glass is heavily beveled, the bottom has a gold design. The glass was etched then gold filled. 42 inch walnut case is rather plain with a modernistic look, simple lines, yet very attractive. The clock has been serviced, cleaned and oiled, and is operating properly. There is at least one service date inscribed on the back, "1912".
