Gustav Becker Vienna Regulator.
Eight day movement is time and strike, signed by Gustav and has an imprinted serial number, 583751, which dates theclocks manufacture date to1885-1890. The movement is original to this case, has adjustable pallets, and it is clean and running. A great carved walnutcase, 47 inches high; extremely good looking even with what is probably areplaced carved top. I donÕt see how the original top could have looked asgood as this carved one. 2 piece porcelain dial has several hairlines, 2heavy brass grommets, and a great pair of old hands. It is always good tosee a pair of nice brass weights, and a good brass pendulum bob, matching finials, and of course 3 good glasses. In addition to the carved top piece there is heavy carving on the capitals above the half columns, as well as the bases of the columns, and the tail of the case. We donÕt get many ViennaRegulators, signed by Becker, this nice, at this price.
