Gustav Becker, 2 weight Vienna Regulator, ca 1882, which is considered a pretty early Becker clock.
There are several things that make this clock different than most Vienna's. First, there is the flat top. No flat top Becker's are pictured in Ly-Gustav Becker nor have we found any in other books. There has never been a top or any finials on this case. Second, the brass ornaments sprinkled from top to bottom. Third, the matching inner dial, pendulum bob, weight pulleys, and weights. All the brass, inside and outside is polished perfectly. The porcelain dial ring is perfect, walnut case is exceptionally clean, well proportioned with carvings top to bottom, and well shaped half columns. The case shows evidence of light cleaning. As usual the 8 day movement has the appropriate GB trademarks inscribed and has the serial number, 287908 inscribed which accurately dates the clock. Even the pendulum stick is polished, is not damaged, and there is a beat scale in the bottom. The clock runs perfectly, striking the hours on one long gong. Having checked the clock inside and out to write this description I must say the clock is near perfect.
