C.1870, French, Martinot, a' Paris, large inlaid clock in the style of Boulle, 8-day time and strike.

Condition: overall in good condition, the case having been restored maybe 60 years ago, tiny little brass nails used to hold the fretted brass to the case. Some missing shell has been filled it with brown synthetic (not bad, you have to look to see it). Front door glass recently replaced and held in place with hot glue. The well made square plate, bell strike movement, is signed A*B in an oval (see Allix and Bonnert who report this trademark). The ormolu trim is brightly gilded. The retailer's name (Martinot) in a porcelain cartouche at the bottom of the dial plate. Ticks and strikes. Height 33 inches
