C.1900, German, Winterhalder and Hofmeier, Quarter Striking bracket clock, with unusual 3-note quarters, mahogany case with line inlay.

22 October 2024
Condition: the case has been attractively refinished; original convex crystal intact, neat pierced brass sound frets on side. Silvered dial with Arabic numerals is especially nice. Retains original key lock bezel and rear door. Someone made a gong standard support that has come unsoldered; this was actually a good idea and can be easily repaired. Strike works as follows: at half past you get TWO sets of 3 descending notes, sort of mi-re-do. On the hour, there is no quarter given, rather the hour is counted on the deepest gong. Height 16 inches
