German, Gustav Becker, Freiburg S, c.1871, small 1-wt "Vienna Regulator" in a walnut veneer case, with burled back panel and ebonized finials and trim, and with 4.25" dial, serial No. 43286. the case has had some scratches and dents, the curved span on the door replaced, a nail has come through the back at the hanger locating {veneer missing there}, weight replaced, small chips in center dial and center shaft tip missing {minute hand glued in place}, however the clock is otherwise in very good original condition, mov't properly signed, pendulum, bezel, crank, pulley and beat scale original. John Hubby's article on Becker assisted us in dating this item. Worthy of restoration. Ht 35"
