There are full form winged maidens flanking the dial, and several cast faces of Northwind, Minerva and Diana, and the case sides with large swirls of cast brass. A very heavy item, Serial No. 427222, c1869 this clock in nearly 150 years old, and has some nicks, scrapes and repairs commensurate with its age. However, overall the clock is in very good condition, with all of its original brass trimmings intact, nicely polished. The series 26 square plated movement has count wheel striking and Graham style dead beat escapement with movable pallets. Includes original brass + steel Lenzkirch key. Has been cleaned and is running. In our estimation this is the most elaborate, Òover-the-topÓ clock in the sale. A decade ago, this clock might have garnered $8000. Ht 37Ò
