German-French Art Deco 3 piece set.
Brown marble with white veins used primarily. Black onyx and a little white onyx used to jazz it up and look modern. This is a one day, time only clock, front wind and regulated, modern hands, bowed glass in the silver bezel. Clock case is 14.5" wide, 8" high, the matching side pieces are 6" high. No chips or breaks.
C.1890, French, Japy, Marble & Bronze, 3-piece mantel set in very good original condition.
The dial bears the name of the retailer: J. Jacqueline, St. Lo. The dark greenish-gray mottled marble is very good, with only lower right corner chip that has been nicely polished down. The well made bell strike movement carries the Japy award medallion. The side pieces are fully intact. Note the interesting motif of duck heads (2 per item) with long curving necks and no body. The clock is surmounted by a spread wing eagle. Height 14.5 inches
C.1900, French Marble 3-Pc Mantel Set, as-found, fell over in consignors house.
Needs glass in rear bezel, rear hinges on slate need renewing and beveled glass is currently taped into the front; all glue joints in case are loose. On the plus side, it has a well made Paris movement with open escapement, and the dial is still good, plus an Elicott pendulum. Either restore or use this movement in another clock. This lot includes 2 sconces, one with center stud broken, can be repaired. NO SHIPPING ON THIS ITEM. Heavy & fragile; see next item also. Height 18 inches
C.1850, French, Large Ormolu Mantel Set, includes 2 candelabras, with wear.
Most of the original gilding has worn to brass from polishing and the very fine detail has been lost as well. The well made round 8-day movement has silk thread suspension. Besides the fanciful scrolls and waves, themes include a lion and 2 children eating grapes. This set is extremely heavy. Height of clock 24.5"; height of candelabra, 28 inches
French Bronze 3 piece mantle set. If we sold the bronze by the pound we could retire.
In addition to being heavy, it is large; the clock is 26 inches high, candelabras 28 inches high. Many cast bronze pieces fitted together. There are angels on the urn top, a goddess and a lion on the base, and a multitudeof pieces that look like vines and leaves from top to bottom. The bronzedial has cartouche numerals recessed in the cutouts, and a cartouche insertreading, "Boer and Fils, a La Haye". Beveled glass over the dial. 8 dayround movement, bell strike, correct pendulum, running. The base is engraved, "1857-1882, Zijne Dankbare, Gerneentenaren 7 December".
Ansonia Clock Co. "Regent" with matching pair of Candelabra, ca 1904.
Another very large and rare clock that is almost never offered for sale, particularly with the 2 matching candelabra. This very heavy clock ismade of both brass and some metal with brass finish. As you can tell everything is a brass-gold color except the black numerals and hands. The entire clock and side pieces are made up of intricately cast pieces, bolted and screwedtogether to form these beautiful pieces. Even the dial, sash, escape wheelbridge are all cast and match the case body perfectly.
Ansonia Clock Co. mantle set, "Royal and Candelabras", ca 1901.
Real Bronze, finished in gold with inlaid, hand painted, porcelain panel. This is a large piece, 18 inches high, candelabra are 17 inches. You almost never see these sets together, and in this condition. One piece porcelain dial, signed twice, Rocco sash, beveled glass. The set has been refinished in recent years with new gold paint. Other than that, the 3 pieces are perfect. 8 day movement strikes half hours on a cathedral gong. Ly-Ansonia No. 1530, No. 1531.
C.1890, French, Large Figural 3-Piece set.
These 3 pieces will add 100 pounds to your mantle, so be sure it is anchored securely; the figure and urns are patinated bronze over spelter. The marble clock has lolly columns up the side, surmounted by a voluptuous young lady with short curly hair, the hair with a little bouquet, repeated between her breasts, and with a locket with a child's face. The marble on all 3 pieces has edge abrasion, especially along the bottom edge, but is generally good; all of the pieces on the 2-color columns are intact.
C.1895, French, Mantel Garniture Set in the style of Boulle, and in very good original condition.
The well made movement is by L. Marti, and also stamped H&F, Paris, No.428. Strikes the hours and halves on a bell, with countwheel. There is a small crack in the crystal, that has been there a long while and should survive OK. The multipiece cast dial has 12 individual cartouche with Roman numerals, all good. The tortoiseshell case is in good condition, only minor repairs to the brass inlay. All of the ormolu trim pieces are present. On one of the urns, a single strip of side trim is missing, but this is only seen on the closest of inspection.

French 3 piece mantle set. Beautiful white marble with an abundance of bronze trim. 8 day round movement, half hour bell strike, signed "Vincenti Medaille D'Argent 1855". Date scratched in the marble base, "1898". Glass back door, sunburst pendulum more than likely a modern replacement. Convex porcelain dial is signed, "Maerle Lowmrins". Convex and beveled glass over the dial. Bezel is etched and beaded, very intricate as are the hands. The clock case is 14 inches high, candelabras are 10 inches high.One of the most petite French sets we have had.
