the clock is in excellent original condition. There is an unfinished area where the seat board rested when finish was applied to the inside of the case. The seat board was then raised to accommodate the configuration for the No. 36. The core of this case may have been used for other Howard models.Two strips have been added to the back of the dial surround to support a split in the board.The weight, pendulum and bob are all original and Howard type. This is a very scarce model in excellent condition. The term "loaded pendulum" is from the E. Howard catalog description of the No.

the case retains its original finish with chips on each of the upper finials and a small chip on pendulum door. There is some minor inpainting on time dial. The original canopy has been reattched. There is a repair to lower portion of pendulum rod where the adjustment assembly attaches. The horizontal time dial support is a period Seth Thomas replacement. The dial has been rotated slightly and the old original holes matching the dial are visible when the dial is off. The clock retains the original damascened bob and original cast iron weight stamped "No.

the case is in excellent original condition with original finish and bold graining in the walnut with some white wall paint along the bottom rear edge. There is a chip of 3/4" x 1/8" in rear right side molding. The dial is in very good condition with very minor scratches. The weight baffle has been replaced and case no longer has a pendulum tie down. The original Bass River Ridge Lodge tablet is in excellent condition and also included is a separate professional reproduction standard Howard style tablet, in the red, gold and black.

the case has little finish remaining. The lower tablet has been repainted. The dial is original, but has some inpaint, scratches and fading to numerals. The weight, gold leafed pendulum rod and damascened pendulum bob are original. The hands are original. There is a Palmer, Batchelder & Co. Jeweler's, Boston, label inside of case.
James Arthur, New York, an unusual drumhead regulator made as a wedding gift for his daughter, Bessie Humphrey Arthur, the mahogany case with glazed base and trunk, the glasses surrounded by half round moldings with decorative brass nails, and with
case in its original finish with minor scrapes, scratches and dings, some polish residue around some of the brass ornaments, glasses and mirrors good, dial with losses to silvering, hands good, pendulum rod good, bob in old lacquer and with tarnish and minor staining, weights in old lacquer and with minor tarnish, movement plates with minor tarnish, escapement will need a bit of work, as there is no locking on the exit pallet, and escape wheel teeth have been slightly blunted. An unusual and highly individualistic clock typical of the quirky output of James Arthur.
Simon Willard, Roxbury, Mass., tall clock, 8 day, time and strike, weight driven movement in typical Roxbury style mahogany case with three brass finials including center eagle finial, fretted crest, stop fluted full columns with brass capitals flanking
the original finish remains and in some parts it is under an old overcoat. The base, fret and feet appear original. The finials appear period. The English-made dial (used on all S. Willard clocks of this period) is in very good condition with original Willard signature and under a black light shows repairs and repaint around dial feet. The pendulum is period and has some repairs. Period hour and minute hands. The tin can weights are period, although one appears to be undersized at only 9 pounds and is a replacement, the other 14 pounds.

This clock is in overall excellent original condition including movement, tablet and pendulum rod with original gold leaf, and mercury filled thumb print glass jar. The original beat scale and walnut support has repairs. There are two stretchers that have been added with screws to the rear of the case to provide support in a standing configuration, and can be removed if desired. There is a paint flake near 12.
