The credit card company has the sole discretion of whether they accept or decline a
charge. Unfortunately, this is the one area we have no control over. We don't get a
specific reason for declines. Usually it has to do with something which does not match between the card and card user's
information, such as name, zip code, billing address, etc.
We suggest you double check your information for accuracy or try again with a different card. You could also use the
print form to send a check.
If you fax your form you should receive email confirmation by the next business day that your account has been activated. Most of the time it is processed even faster. If you send payment by mail, we will activate your account by the next business day after your mailed form has been delivered to us. The time it takes wil vary depending on speed of postal delivery.
Almost all the content is free. Non-members can search or browse through more than 17,700 photos of antique clocks. You can access extensive information about identification and dating, buying and selling, and additional resources for answering your questions about antique clocks. Paid members receive the added benefit of unrestricted access to the descriptions and "real world" pricing information of all the clocks in our database.
No. Although we would like to have one, printing a version of this guide would be impractical. It would need to have several thousand pages and color photos to be able to provide all the data on this site. It would be many volumes and would cost many hundreds of dollars, making it too costly for most people to purchase.
Yes! We encourage you to do a free search FIRST to see if a clock like yours is listed before you decide whether to subscribe. You can view all the photos of all the clocks appearing on this site. Use the Clock Prices tab to search by keyword, model name, maker, type of clock or country of origin. However, only paid subscribers have access to the complete descriptions and pricing information.
If you do not find your exact clock, you may find similar clocks which will have pricing information that will help you. By subscribing, you can compare your clock to information about similar clocks as an aid to getting a feel for what your clock might be worth.
We usually add between 2,000 to 3,000 more clocks to our database each year. The updates usually take place at least four times a year. However, the actual schedule of additions depends on auction schedules, dealer cooperation, our office work load and other factors. We also add other types of research material throughout the year as well. We do not eliminate any of the old records, so during any one year subscription period the number of clocks and amount of data you have access to continues to grow.
Our prices are not "updated" as such. They are reports of actual sales or retail asking prices as of a particular date. We give you complete details of the specific dates and the auction sales or dealers we got the price from. We do ADD more clocks with more prices as we receive the data from our contributors - so we are always adding the most current data available from our sources. However, we do not erase the data from previous sales, as these can help show trends in values. In this way our guide is really more of a "Price Report", since most price guides only give quite generalized values or range of values and do not quote the specific source or reason for the value.
