shelf clock. This a rare clock housing an 8-day weight drive time only movement. The movement is marked Chauncey Jerome, Bristol and the dial New Haven. All paint is original on wooden dial; someone has pierced the dial with 2 wood screws to hold it in place (done long ago). The case has no label, only blank paper pasted in the case. The case has had some veneer repair on the along the outer edge. The case has a nice cut and frosted glass that is old. This very clock is pictured in Distin and Bishop, page 148, fig 314. Height 25 inches
