The case with four beveled glasses to the sides, and with fluted corners, fluted top arcade surmounted by finials and a reeded handle, with a matching fluted bottom skirt above four turned feet. The plates of the high quality time only, seven jeweled movement retain original gilding. The silvered and engraved platform escapement with cut, compensated balance is visible through a crescent shaped aperture in the rear plate, which is numbered 2462. The porcelain dial with bold script numerals has a vertical hairline. The rear glass has chipping at 2 corners. Overall a good example of a high quality American carriage timepiece that will benefit from a gentle cleaning. If perfect, worth $500. Height 6 inches
