C.1890, Prentiss Clock Improvement Co., New York long running "Prentiss Empire" calendar clock, with separate rollers for day and month, and individual placards for each date. The time movement in this clock is the large double spring movement pictured in Miller's calendar book, page 156, having a running duration of 2 months. The complex calendar mechanism is wound once per year. Partial label inside and mbossing on the lower case "Property of Prentiss Clock Co, no. 5230". The original dial has a minor dimple, but retains wonderful original signature. Very good original condition. Height 36 inches
