A mid nineteenth century two day marine chronometer in a three tier rosewood case in original condition, serial number 1787. The dial is signed for JR Cameron, 54 South Castle Street, Liverpool. John Cameron moved to this address in 1851 and the serial number of the movement indicates it was made around 1863. The movement, which has been overhauled, has Earnshaw's detent escapement with a cut bimetallic balance wheel with heat compensation weights.
