A carriage clock in a frosted-gilt cannelee case. The movement is by Drocourt to which Charles Frodsham, maker to Queen Victoria, has added his own first class English platform escapement. In consequence it is accurate to within 30 seconds a week. A very similar platform is shown on page 273 of Charles Allix's book. The clock strikes the hours and half hours on a gong and repeats the hours. It has an alarm. The movement and clock are signed for Frodsham with his post 1893 signature and his serial number, 19491. The movement also has the Drocourt serial number, 18443.
