An unusually large sized French 17" high corniche cased brass four glass clock with red jewelled front visible brocourt escapement and a large mercury pendulum, the large polished fine quality brass corniche case with original thick bevelled glasses with opening front and rear door, the substantial large 14-day duration numbered and stamped movement by "S Marti" with hour and half hour strike on a gong, large mercury pendulum held up by a double screwed back-cock, the two piece white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and seconds division markers, blued steel fleurs de lyse hands, we feel due to the large size of this clock it must have been a special commission for an entrance to a public building or a boardroom clock. 19" x 10" x 8"
