The case retains original chinoisserie decorations, floral on the sides, and a temple with costumed people on the door (with flaking and wear). The case bears the old signature "Justin Vulliamy, London', a prominent 18th century English maker; it was common for a clockmaker in the provinces to put the name of a London maker on a public clock . The movement is a proper 5 wheel tavern timepiece with tapered plates, powered by a replacement iron weight. The dial plate and bezel are original to the case, with restoration, the dial surface having been filled in, sanded smooth and proper numerals applied. With old brass hands. Minor scrapes and bruises to case; Height 49'
