in generally good original condition.. In the early 19th century, when the French were producing this style clock in bronze and ormolu, resources were limited in Austria for such casting, with the result the cases were carved from wood and finished in gesso and gold leaf. This clock has lost a couple of grapes and leaf tips but is otherwise complete, some trim is loose. The top finial is original, but just setting for the photo, as the dowel is broken away. The movement is a well constructed silk thread, bell strike (original), and with Geneva stop-work intact. The pendulum is original as well, and is visible swinging behind the central railing. The porcelain dial has some small chips around the winding holes, but is generally good. The delicate fretted hands are original. Height 26" $2000-2500
