C.1840, Scottish, Tall Clock, 8-Day, painted dial, in a mixed woods case, in generally good condition. As is typical of north country clocks, this case has the wide proportions that were appreciated there. The 13 inch dial has floral corners and in the arch, a scholar making notes, as watched by a lion. The hood has a steep broken arch, the door flanked by smooth round columns. Note the glass is missing, veneer repaired, and hood fits trunk loosely. Case retains old finish in good order.
