on case in very good condition. This clock was last sold on Tuesday, January 7, 1986 at Bourne's sale of Tony Sposato's clocks, as lot 243, price $1500. Mr. Sawyer's description was more than adequate: "Mahogany veneered case with 4 steeples and 2 doors, both retaining original cut glass tablets. The lower door opens to a fine paper label and fusee cones, and the upper door opens to a fine original dial. Rare 8-day brass time and strike fusee driven movement. Early repair label, dated 1879, of Leander Freeman, Willimantic, Connecticut, on back of case. Condition: some veneer damage and replacement, otherwise fine original condition." He should have noted the case had been refinished and some veneer is loose; height 26" $2000-2500
