This interesting Empire style case was unique to C. Jerome, and he put a couple of different movements in these. This particular one has the upper movement we usually see in his 8-day OG (with different "scape wheel), and with large springs housed in the detached fusees in the base. The original wooden dial retains about 25 percent of the signature, but it is clearly visible; the tablet of Magdalen College, Germany is outstanding. Minor veneer chips on case which retains original finish. The label shows a view of the New Haven plant; see sister to this clock in Palmer"s A Treasury of American Clocks, page 200. A fine example Height 23'
