now with a C.1880, 3-weight grand sonnerie movement. Note the seatboard fits in the slides, but is too narrow, and for safety, a wider seat should be made, possibly you could add 1/8 inch to each side to get the strength you need. In any case, the case is attractively veneered with rosewood; has a few nicks and bruises, but is quite attractive. The movement is well made and with a good dial, but has replaced hands (old) and is dirty and will need service. Note pulleys later, and glass is cracked. If this had been all original, we would have expected it to bring around $4500. Height 54" $1750-2250
