The outer lyre case is an uncommon design, the top with an arch of waves and the base with a gilt griffin at each corner. Noteworthy is the color scheme: the pillars, base and clock bezel in dark bronze and the rest with original bright yellow gilding. The movement/pendulum feature a pinwheel escapement and a 9-rod gridiron, the whole suspended from a substantial knife edge, the suspension hiding behind the ormolu spray at top. Strikes on a bell. Height 23'
