The burled case has been stripped and refinished with polyurethane, and needs to be rubbed down with steel wool and waxed. The bottom finial is incorrect. The movement itself is signed on the dial: W. Schonberger, in Wien, mounted to a seat board and with separate brass gong standard, typical of earlier models. Workmanship on the 72 beat movement is outstanding. All pulleys are old, but one does not match. Orig wooden handle crank must be used when winding, as the clearance around the dial grommets is very slim. Despite needing some attention, this clock has potential. Height 45" $4000-5000
