unusual 8-day column and cornice in good original condition. The original tablets are flaking and the pendulum stick has been replaced, but this is still a good pre-civil war column and cornice, with good label. Best part is the movement which Silas used in his regulators; Seth Thomas fans will note the similarity to the movement he designed for the striking no. 1 Extra. This is movement type 4, with large escape wheel and verge between the plates, and the crutch passing through a slot in the pendulum; count wheel is on the left great wheel. Nicks and scrapes to case, plus top " finish molding is missing from cornice; new Merritts weights. Original finish. Height 32" $750-1000
