ebonized pearwood, with ormolu mounts and dial surround. Although the base has a dry split, the clock is otherwise original and sound and in very good condition. Retains original cast/grid pendulum with 7 shells in a circle and the grid-iron flanked by well chased swans. The dial is engine turned brass, silvered, and the lacquer has discolored slightly. The well made bell strike movement is signed simply "FC" in script. A nice example of the Empire style; height 18" Reserve $700
