C.1860, German, Joseph Schumacher, Furtwangen, Organ Clock, as-found.
This organ portion of this clock is in need of major restoration. Two of the flutes are missing and the driving mechanism for the wooden pin drum is dirty. Does retain original tune sheet (8-tunes) and the pins on the drum are in good condition. The wooden plated time and strike movement is missing hands. The clock comes with two American iron weights that are incorrect but weigh enough to power the clock (organ is spring driven). The original dial has lovely painted scenes, a girl having fainted, her boyfriend in chains and her father chastising the pair. The dial is flanked by two winged cherubs, the left with roses and the right with a scythe; some minor paint loss. The case refinished and with later hinges. Would be $8000 if working. Height 90 inches Reserve $4000 Additional keywords: longcase, tallcase, grandfather
