in good original condition, on a white marble base, with old dome (now with long wavy crack). Full details on Smith's operations can be found in both Royer-Collard, pages 51-57, and in British Skeleton Clocks by Derek Roberts (1987), pages 126-135. This clock with slightly different dial than illustrated, but nicely fretted and engraved (silvering has turned dark). The original fusee chain is intact and the clock is in running order. Clock is shown with and without dome. Height of clock +base 17", overall 21 inches $1200-1500
