in excellent condition, and complete with dome + base with brass string inlay. This has a very small and well made platform movementÅ note unique design allowing removal of the spring barrel and unusual Geneva stopwork on the barrel end. The movement is contained in a small bronze sphere (about 2.8" diameter), with a hinged rear door that is part of the sphere. The globe is nestled in the trunk of a tree, and surmounted by a winged angel, holding the twisted corners of a blanket that support an infant. I don't know whether she is 'bringing' or 'taking' the child. Small, finely pierced gilt hands. The whole resting on a faceted block of green onyx, with a gilt bottom and 4 knurled bun feet. Height of clock 10 inches0 inches, w/dome 14" Reserve $1100
