The clock sets in the winch with winding arbor and pawl above, a chain draped round the winch and through the top of the anchor. The shank of the anchor carries a thermometer, and behind stands a compass. The whole mounted to a veined white marble base with heavy brass footing. The case and tools with original tu-tone finish and the clock running. A sister to this clock may be seen in Derek Roberts' book: Mystery Novelty and Fantasy Clocks, (1999), page 265, figure 22-28-D. Height 6.5" Reserve $2500
