from the Industrial Series of clocks. The boiler has pipes and gauges, and the 8-day platform clock and aneroid barometer are set in the side of the round boiler. The fly-ball governor at top is driven by a separate movement in the base and runs for several hours on a winding. Both movements are in working order. You will find more information and detail pictures on this same model clock in Derek Roberts' book: Mystery Novelty and Fantasy Clocks, (1999), pages 263+265. This clock has been professionally replated and is quite striking in appearance. Reference lot 238 in our May 2000 sale which sold for $7500. Height 14" $5000-6000
