C.1890, Musical Shelf Cuckoo Clock, Fusee

C.1890, Musical Shelf Cuckoo Clock, Fusee movement in a walnut architectural case, roof and steeple with carved "shingles". The large double fusee movement is well made, with heavy brass plates, and with count wheel at top of the back plate. In the base of the case is the original 6 tune music box wound with a hand crank on the right side of the case. It appears that at one time the music may have played automatically after the cuckoo, however, at this time it operates manually. The original tune sheet is intact and fully legible. Original cuckoo flutes are intact as well, with some repairs, and they have a nice deep tone. This clock has gotten separated from its pendulum, and this will need to be made, and the bezel and crystal over the dial are missing. Music box plays and with no broken teeth, but will need attention. Clock is otherwise complete and sound. Height 31 inches $2000-2500
