C.1895, French, for Tiffany and Co., New York, double dial perpetual calendar clock in outstanding restored condition. This is about as good as a calendar clock gets. The well made open escape movement with porcelain dial bearing chapter ring in gold and with gilt moon hands, and with an Ellicot style pendulum. The rear plate of the movement carries a wheel with a single pin rotating once in 24 hours that trips the lever to the calendar mechanism below. Note the calendar gives you day, date and month as well as the phases of the moon. Interestingly, there is an additional dial top center that indicates, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and leap year, just to remind you in advance to expect a 29th of February. Height 14" $8000-12000
