the fan driven by the striking mechanism, mounted separately in the tower of the clock. This particular clock lost its fan at some time and a workman borrowed a sample to form a mold and cast a new one from lead. The net result is that the fan weights around 3 ounces when it should be thin stamped brass and weigh around an ounceŠ and so it turns rather lazily and unreliably. The rest of the clock appears to be original and sound and both movements run; small chip in porcelain dial at 3. Height 16" Reserve $2300
