The 15-day movement is well made, the escapement on the front plate is visible through the dial. The spring suspended pendulum is a unique compensating unit, a knife edge pivot in the top yoke, which provides "raising motion' when the two outer brass rods expand in length due to temperature rise. The case itself has been professionally refinished and has a "new look', but careful inspection reveals that it is old. The mounting screws pulled out of the backboard, and the holes have been filled with pegs and redrilled. The inside of the backboard has been stained to hide the restoration. This is a very impressive clock and mechanically interesting in that you can see everything that takes place during operation of the clock. Suspension spring and T-holder replaced; hook for idler pulley is new; fret around dial is new. The lead filled brass weight falls down the right side of the case, suspended on a large spoked pulley. In running order; dial 12', height 65'
