with both boxes. The outer box has a weather spot and flaking on top, but the inner box is "like new". Both are very clean inside and show signs of good care. Best part is that this box was made for the U.S.Maritime Commission, and so engraved on the dial. Serial number 2E10275. Includes a certification slip from 1954 showing that the box was in service on the SS American Lawyer. The box was overhauled by TS and JD Negus of 69 Pearl St, New York. Note that the inner box also bears the original US Maritime label; the outer box is a Navy unit, no. 3575, and strap is broken (piece inside). It is nice to have such a complete package with provenance. Height 9" $1750-2250
