Chelsea Ships Clock, circa1970-85, on walnut stand
MINT condition. Brass case on a solid walnut base; silver dial; 14" wide at the wooden stand base; 9" high (wood base); brass clock bezel 7" diameter with 6" dial diameter. The hinged bezel release is by a push button on the side of the case. This clock came without a desk or table stand...it was designed to be attached or mounted to the wall or to a wall mounted plaque. Dealers comments: The factory-made custom stand for it cost more than $110. Original owner had kept it unopened in the original box just as he received it from the Chelsea Clock Co. in Boston near his home. It remained undisturbed for years until we opened the box. If the next owner is interested he can remove the back of the case-we left it undisturbed-and from the serial number on the back plate determine the exact day it left the Chelsea factory in Boston...by calling their offices. This is a service that fine company provides (for a fee I believe) to all Chelsea owners. I think it was made in the 70's or 80's but that's a pure guess.
