E.N. Welch Gingerbread Mantel Clock, "No. 6", circa 1900
Anonymous (not verified)
23 October 2024
The ornate oak case with applied wood accents and an original door glass with gold pattern; with brass movement with a working alarm mechanism. Newly restored dial bearing the Welch name. 22 3/4" high. The clock mechanism is clean and operates perfectly throughout the week including a strike on the hours and once every half-hour. Dealer comments: if you wind the alarm and set the brass alarm ring (in the center of the dial) the alarm WILL go off at the appointed time...but it won't stop ringing until the alarm spring is totally run down-and that's why current owners rarely use or set the alarms!!
