Gilbert Clock Co. Mantel Clock, "Thebes" model, circa 1879 Solid walnut case; eight day brass movement; gold door glass design pattern, 19" tall by 12" wide; condition: excellent and running well. movement with strike on the hours. The crown on the top of the clock is illustrated in the original Gilbert Clock Co. catalogue. The door glass design is original to the clock and also shown in the Gilbert catalogue. The dial paper is original and stained in places.
