Clockmaker - J Ruxton, Longford Ireland. This is a Small 'Regulator' style clock in a style typical of the English Regency period, with restrained and elegant lines together with flame mahogany. Height 74" The dial and case have had some restoration a few years ago, the dial has been refinished and the case has had a replacement skirting in mahogany and a new piece of moulding to the plinth. The work is of a high standard. J Ruxton is not listed, under UV light the name is shown to be original. The good quality 8-day movement strikes the hours on a bell. The movement has been cleaned and restored and is in full working order. Additional keywords: longcase, tallcase, grandfather
