Large American Oak Cased Wall Regulator, Sessions Clock Co., C. 1901
Oak case, original yellowed paper dial with Sessions logo; eight day brass movement; fancy brass "spider's web" design pendulum bob; 36" tall, 18" wide. This clock is in excellent running condition and retains its original dial paper which is somewhat yellowed with age but retaining clear numerals which have not been rubbed off over the years. Only the upper door glass has been replaced at some time in its history. Additional Dealer Comments: The old "country store"-style wall clocks were actually used in many settings.....Hardware Stores, Notions Goods Stores; "Five and Ten Cent Stores"; smaller Railroad Stations and Neighborhood Grocery Stores to name just a few. They were faithful, requiring little attention to keep them running well and keeping accurate time. Often placed in windows and more frequently on the wall behind check out counters, these large and impressive clocks with their soothing and slow ticking sound, measured out the cadence of life in an era when things moved at a slower and easier pace. A great old clock in an impressive larger size.
