C.1843, J.J. and W. Beals, 8-day OG wall clock Boston, Mass, 8-day OG, internal column clock. This clock houses a Joseph Ives 8-day weight, time+strike movement. The label is an overpaste, probably over a Hills, Goodrich and Co. label. The original gilding on the columns is beautiful as well as the finely veneered case. The crest retains most of its gilding with a little touch up in the center. The case has been refinished. The two glasses are replacements. The lower glass is an exact copy of an original glass for this clock. The dial is in very nice condition with only a little paint loss where the dial mounts to the case. The pendulum bob is new; one weight is original, the other a replacement. A great looking and uncommon clock. Height 31 inches
