C.1870, English perpetual calendar "Registered Date Clock
George Taylor, Wolverhampton, perpetual calendar in a mahogany case with single fusee movement, with restoration. The well made fusee movement has a large English platform lever escapement which was originally on top of the movement, and was moved (some time ago) to the front plate. But the best part is the perpetual calendar with 3 windows in the lower part of the arched dial, showing day, date and month. The original label inside the rear of the clock gives full instructions on how to set the calendar. This clock with reg number 2671 painted on the dial, stamped on movement, and repeated on the label; serial no. 40. The lock for the rear door is missing, and the key is missing from the front door, which we did manage to get open to inspect the dials. Except for the re-worked platform, the clock, calendar and case are original; will need cleaning and adjustment; some nicks and scrapes; Height 19"
