in bronze and in very good original condition. In the Louis Philippe period architectural forms were a popular basis for clock case design. We have sold similar clocks before, usually silvered brass, but this is the first all bronze with a crowned lady in royal dress kissing a brave soldier (effeminate and in skirt) on the steps of the church. The dial has been painted over with black paint, and the numerals painted crudely over that. However this is a great period piece that will restore nicely. The well made silk thread bell strike movement, with the number 43. Height 21 inches
