C.1912, Chelsea "Mahogany Gothic" clock for Tiffany Co., New York

(engraved on dial) house strike with 8 inch silvered dial, restored, and now with a movement made 4 years earlier than the case. The mahogany case has been refinished, and at the very top the veneer has cracked and then been filled and sanded a bit to smooth it out, actually making the situation a little worse. Otherwise the clock looks OK, with attractive double line satinwood inlay all around the perimeter; case bears serial no. 86783. This is a large and impressive clock, standing 18" high. The well made Chelsea movement, serial number 33065 (c.1907), was apparently installed when the original movement was damaged. Height 18"
