French Artist's Palette Clock c. 1889

Dimensions:17" tall (to the top( of the easel, by 10 inches wide. Maker/Mfgr./Author/Artist:French-Griel and Morterea Paris, ca 1889. Condition:Excellent Circa:ca 1889 Materials:Porcelain palette, brass easel and brass French movement. Description:This French clock portrays an artist's palette with a barnyard scene painted on the palette surface depicting a colorful rooster, a hen and her chicks. The palette/clock is removeable from the brass easel/stand. (See photographs). The brass easel or stand can be adjusted to level the clock and correct the "beat" for any surface on which it is standing- regardless of the levelness of the mantle, desk or shelf. The French clock movement is protected by a "tin can" case attached to the back of the palette. (See photographs). Note that in the photograph showing the clock movement, the rear cover is removed to display the mechanism inside the rear of the case. The French maker Greil and Morterea, Paris, dates to around 1889.
